Hi Iv just recieved my AOC I2369VM Monitor. I didnt recieve a manual and i have no idea where the volume button is can anyone help?

The volume is controlled from the PC or your speakers.

ahh ok, also i recieved an email about plugging the monitor into my graphics card. Do i do this with a hdmi cable or a VGA or does it not matter?

As vanthus said, HDMI will be better (it should carry sound too if your monitor has speakers?). You can also use a DVI cable instead if you'd prefer

hmm iv just plugged my computer in and it wont start, is there something im missing?

Few things to check;

Does anything start? (lights, fans, anything at all?)
Have you got everything plugged in?
Is the switch on the PSU switched on?
Did you take out any packaging that may have been inside the PC?

If by not start you mean there is no sound of fans or anything, you may just need to click the on/off switch on the PSU, it is generally just beside where the power cable gets plugged in on the PSU.
