PC Price has reduced since ordering? But PC isn't being built yet.

Hey,
on the 20th May, I placed an order for a PC build and just today showed a buddy of mine the specs that I've chosen as they're looking for the same build.
I've noticed that the exact same specs, including the case, delivery etc.. Is £88 cheaper now. I mean, this is good for him. But I kinda feel bummed that my PC still is in pre-production and I've paid more.
Could PCS match the new price at all?

Cheers,
Edan

Prices change all the time, when you press the purchase button you enter into a standard financial agreement at that moment, it's like buying a custom car and then the price reducing by £2000 whilst it's still being built, you aren't entitled to the cheaper price as you signed the contract earlier than the new price existed.

What's it for? Could be a perfect excuse to cancel that monstrosity and buy something more sensible as I can't imagine many uses where that spec would be a good buy!

I would tend to agree, need to know the use case as it's a bit all over the place.

Thanks for the response, both of you.
Regarding what it's for? It's a video editing computer. How is this all over the place/monstrosity?

Ah, for video editing it’s decent. Incorrectly assumed it was a gaming rig, my bad.

I appreciate the willingness to give advice - I can imagine some people have spent unnecessary money.
However, I've carefully research into optimal performance with Adobe Premiere Pro. 32coreTR, Multiple m.2 drives for Cache, Project Files & Scratch, 2080ti & fast ram is required. Many thanks to Pugent Systems for their in-depth tests and research:

One thing though, I didn't intend to get a 1200W power supply, that's what was available at the time of order :)

Yeah, I thought that, there's been a general shortage of PSU's worldwide, amongst other components.

Sorry for the hasty judgement, shouldn't have assumed it was for gaming.

That's a beast of a build for video editing, that CPU is an absolute monster!

Thanks!
I always appreciate your comments, I'm learning a lot from what you've written on other threads & general support.
I've been using Macs for nearly 10 years! First PC in a long time!
You'll be amazed at the difference this one does to your editing.... just night and day from a Mac. I recently built a 3950x build for a friend who'd moved from a Mac Pro for data science, it reduced his processing job from over 30 minutes down to under 5! It actually cycled through a few times before he realised it had already completed. He was blown away.

Amazing! That's great to hear.
I believe for most performance creative needs, Windows are going to lead the way. Theirs only so much Apple tax before people jump ship.
Can't wait to try this PC when it arrives!

In which case, beast mode PC. I don't have an AMD chip so this may be wrong, but overclocking them is supposed to make them worse isn't it?

Only for single threaded applications like gaming as it will reduce the peak frequency to the highest of the weakest core. AMD auto boosts on the strongest cores which will be a lot higher than what’s possible on the weaker cores.

For multi threaded such as editing, it will give an all core overclock which should gain about 10%.
