Hi all, I have put together 2 specs with the help from PCS Live support. If anyone could offer their opinion/advice/improvements, it would be greatly appreciated. Just so you know I will be using the pc for gaming such as (BF3, Cod, MC etc), video/photo editing, Web Design, iTunes (hence the large HDD). I would also like to be able to run up to 4 monitors off of it, would this be possible. Which spec would you recommend and why? Budget is around the £1850-£1900 mark. thanks. Also i was having difficulty choosing between the graphics cards :S

Thanks in advance!! :)

this comes in at £1701

ase
COOLERMASTER CM690 MKII ADVANCED CASE

Processor (CPU)
Intel® Core™i7-2600 Quad Core (3.40GHz, 8MB Cache) + HD Graphics - no need for the "K" variant unless you want to overclock the pc.

Motherboard
ASUS® P8Z68-V: USB 3.0, SATA 6GBs, NVIDIA®SLI™, ATI®CrossFireX - very nice

Memory (RAM)
8GB KINGSTON HYPER-X GENESIS DUAL-DDR3 1600MHz, X.M.P (2 x 4GB KIT) 16gb is way overkill in my opinion

Graphics Card
2GB AMD RADEON™ HD6950 - 2 DVI,HDMI,2 mDP - DX® 11, Eyefinity 4 Capable

2nd Graphics Card
2GB AMD RADEON™ HD6950 - 2 DVI,HDMI,2 mDP - DX® 11, Eyefinity 4 Capable - you said you wanted 4 monitors. these are very very good. one single gpu with not be enough four screens. (if you want the best go for 6970's. but they bit more pricey)

Memory - 1st Hard Disk
120GB KINGSTON HYPERX SSD, SATA 6 Gb/s (upto 555MB/sR | 510MB/sW) - faster than intel's ssd, id opt for one of these. will hold a good amount of programs, (dont use it for game, personally I'd add a caviar black drive for ya games, as they are more performance base than the greens.

2nd Hard Disk
3TB WD CAVIAR GREEN WD30EZRX, SATA 6 Gb/s, 64MB CACHE

3rd Hard Disk
3TB WD CAVIAR GREEN WD30EZRX, SATA 6 Gb/s, 64MB CACHE

1st DVD/BLU-RAY Drive
24x DUAL LAYER DVD WRITER ±R/±RW/RAM - do you really need the blu ray writer? its very expensive to copy then due to the discs? are you going to get your uses out of it?

Memory Card Reader
INTERNAL 52 IN 1 CARD READER (XD, MS, CF, SD, etc) + 1 x USB 2.0 PORT

Power Supply
CORSAIR 1050W PRO SERIES™ HX1050-80 PLUS® SILVER MODULAR (£162) -enough juice for the two 6950's and plenty left over for extra fans/drives ram etc.

Processor Cooling
SUPER QUIET 22dBA TRIPLE COPPER HEATPIPE CPU COOLER (£19) - very good for the price.

Sound Card
ONBOARD 6 CHANNEL (5.1) HIGH DEF AUDIO (AS STANDARD)

Network Facilities
ONBOARD GIGABIT LAN & WIRELESS 802.11N 300Mbps PCI-E CARD (£19) this one will be positioned better on the motherboard, (above the gpu's, so it doesnt get in the way of cooling/blocking airflow)

USB Options
6 x USB 2.0 PORTS @ BACK PANEL (MIN 2 FRONT PORTS) AS STANDARD

Operating System
Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit - inc DVD & Licence (£79)

Office Software
NO OFFICE SOFTWARE

Anti-Virus
NO ANTI-VIRUS SOFTWARE - dont buy any till you have tried the free stuff, such as microsoft security essentials, avast, avg free. if you do wanna buy norton have a look and see if there are offers about first.

Warranty
3 Year Silver Warranty (1 Year Collect & Return, 1 Year Parts, 3 Year Labour) (£5)

Delivery
STANDARD INSURED DELIVERY TO UK MAINLAND (MON-FRI)

Build Time
Standard Build - Approximately 10 to 12 working days
Quantity 1

WOW! Thanks a bunch! that spec looks almost perfect!

I may add the bluray in as i do have a bluray films, I will also ad in the office haha XD

So with the two graphics cards does that mean i would in total have 4DVI, 2HDMI and 2mDP? and I should be able to run 4 screens off this?

Thanks!!! :)

tom_gr7

yeah Im pretty sure you will be able to run 4 screens.

If you really want the best id opt for 6970's, but the 6950's are very good too.

I would add a extra caviar black drive (drive number 2) it will give you better loading times in games.

I'd also ask pcs, to fit a few extra fans in for you (call them up and ask) just to ensure those gpu's don't start sweating in there.

edit thanks for the rep
