PC Spec help

I'm thinking of ordering this PC, mainly for gaming at 1440p, for games like Warzone, Battlefield, Apex legends, Witcher 3, rocket League, etc etc.

I've basically maxed out my budget but the one main question I had is whether or not the cooler will be capable of the system / especially if I do a bit of slight overclocking down the line too. If not, which cooler would people recommend seeing as though I don't want to spend all too much more if I don't have to!

Can you provide the unique URL from the bottom of the config? It allows us to go into your build and propose specs without starting from scratch.

I think you could save a fair few quid. There's no real reason to go for the 3700X for gaming (the 3800X would be a better value option anyway). With the 3600, or even the 3300X(which is currently out of stock), you wouldn't need a CPU cooler and could save a significant amount of money.

Also, the motherboard is over-specced for your uses. The B550 would be the recommended go-to.

You don't want to OC any AMD chip regardless. Especially with gaming. I think the exception may be the 3300X, as it seems to get decent results with a good cooler, other than that though I genuinely wouldn't touch it.

That's interesting to hear, thank you! I might have a look at going just for the 3600x then, and maybe even put the spare money into a 2080 super. As long as I can get pretty solid FPS on AAA titles at 1440p I'm happy!

If there's any changes you'd make to the spec please make them!

Your budget is around £1450? Do you have a 1440p monitor already or are you planning on buying one?

From what Scott said you can save money on the CPU, motherboard and cooling. You'll probably want to spend more on much faster storage, but I'll leave it to people who really know their stuff to advise as I don't. GPU I don't know the best advice either

Hi yeah,

I have a 1440p monitor already, I have the "lg 27gl850".

I am planning to upgrade and get a M2 NvME at some point soon, thought I can install one of those myself, I need some mass storage too though hence the HDD.

But good suggestion, I'll look into upgrading storage by maybe decreasing some specs elsewhere!

Cheers

You'll get replies, I'm sure of that!! I'll leave it to them as I know very little, just passing on what I learned from the help I had.

I wouldn't bump for the 2080 Super to be honest. The 2070 Super has you covered with the monitor (which is excellent by the way). The money saved, put it to the next generation of GPU, out in September, next year. Value for money wise it makes much more sense. The 3070 will make the 2080 Super look silly :)

I've sorted out what I would recommend for the storage. Adding an M2 is a doddle, but I would add it as a secondary drive. A 1TB one would be ideal for games alone.

Given the case selection with the ARGB and the side panel my guess was the op fancied the bling ;)

Thank you all for the replies!

I'm going to take up your suggestions and go for the 3600x and B550, and put the saved cash towards a 1TB NvME!

And yeah, I went for the 3200mhz RAM because RGB >> Performance!

Thank you so much for your help, I really appreciate it!

Cheers

Thank you guys,

I'll make the suggested changes and get on with ordering! I really appreciate the help!

At least it's gonna be an upgrade from my current 10 year old system...
