PC Specification Advice

Hello All,

I am looking to finally upgrade my main desktop after 10 years (that i7-4790 has done well!) and wanted to get a quick sense check on my build. Gone back and forth between 4080 super and 4090 but think I am leaning that the 4090 just isn't worth the additional cost for me.

Uses - Primarily gaming with some limited video production
Monitors: Primary for gaming - Samsung G7 Odyssey LC32G7XT (32 inch, 240hz 1440p). Second monitor - Samsung S34E790C (34inch ultrawide, 1440p, 60hz).

Current build thinking below. I want to select the Ak620 CPU cooler but its currently out of stock so the configurator wont let me select it hence the AK400 as a placeholder. The original cooler selection of Corsair H100x had compatibility issues with the case which would require removing the main front 2 fans according to the configurator hence the switch to air.

Specced a higher than required PSU for a bit of extra long term headroom.

There are quite a few over-spends in play. I wouldn't opt for the high end motherboard or the overspecced RAM, there's no real benefit to either and it hits the pocket pretty hard. The 980 drives are very poor so switched them out with far better alternatives.

I don't think the torrent is a well placed case either. It's over-priced and not as pretty as others IMO. I would be far more likely to choose a case to suit the build with an AIO in place rather than the other way around. You'll get a better all around experience with an AIO in place IMO. The system won't work anywhere near as hard to clear the air through and the CPU will never peak.
