PC started rebooting when launching games.

I've had a prebuilt pc from you guys for a few years now. Recently switched out some parts for a new case, CPU cooler, GPU and PSU. I did this just before Christmas, now when I launch any game the PC restarts automatically. I have updated the drivers and temps are fine, so I do not think it is overheating. I will attach the specs below. I have noticed in the event viewer I am receiving some warnings and errors. Such as: "The AMDRyzenMasterDriverV17 service failed to start due to the following error: The system cannot find the file specified." And: "The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID ".

Have you removed all the drivers for the AMD card? Having a conflicting driver will cause it to crash

I have removed the drivers for the AMD GPU. And yes, I applied new thermal paste when installing the new CPU cooler

Through device manager-display adapters-uninstall device. Does something else need to be done to ensure the drivers are removed?

To make sure nothing is left behind use DDU

Sounds like Ryzen Master application is gone a bit wonky. I'd look to uninstall that at a min. But is it worth doing a clean install of windows, given level of hardware change?

I've now used DDU to remove previous drivers and the PC is still restarting when launching games. What do you mean by a clean install of Windows? I've only just installed Ryzen Master today, I haven't changed anything in the app so the CPU is running as normal

Is it BSODing and restarting? If you'd like me to take a look, please upload the event logs and minidumps as per this post: https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/forums/threads/when-youre-seeking-help-with-a-bsod.71885/#post-568901
No, there is no blue screen it just goes black and restarts. This has not been happening today. I attempted to do a windows reset yesterday. When the PC was redownloading windows it went into a cycle of booting and restarting constantly. The fans would start turning for a short time and then turn off and start again. I noticed an orange light with no flashes on the motherboard above the ram, then a red light would flash and it would restart again. This continued for a few minutes and no signal was being sent to the monitor so I held down the power button to turn the system off. When it booted it told me that the reset was not successful. Here are the event logs that were saved since then. I also noticed on boot today in this sequence an orange, red, white then green light, is this normal?

Sorry for the late reply.

Your logs don't go back very far, they only cover part of the 5th and 6th Jan. That's a shame, because looking though a long log history can often reveal things you wouldn't otherwise notice.

Your Application log contains nothing of interest.

I can see the failed reset in your System log, though there are no entries that might indicate why - but that it wouldn't reset is a concern. I think the advice to clean install is good.

The AMDRyzenMasterDriverV17 error I see quite a lot and I do';t think that this is the source of your crashes, but it's not something you want to see, so I'd take the above advice to uninstall it.

Otherwise the logs don't help at all really. Have a look in C:\Windows\Mindumps and check that there are no .dmp files in there with time and date stamps around the time of your crashes. Upload any dumps that are related.

Also check in C:\Windows\LiveKernelReports to see whether there are any .dmp files in there (these are dumps taken on the fly as the kernel recovers from an error). Upload any dumps that have related time and date stamps.

I'm not the best person to ask about those motherboard LEDs (that is what you mean, right?), but that is what I'd expect to see during the POST process. It's only if any of them stay on that you need to worry. If you look in the manual for your motherboard you'll find a description of those LEDs in there.

W10 clean install instructions:

Download a new copy of Windows using the Media Creation Tool to an 8GB (min) USB.
Boot that USB and choose a Custom Install.
Delete all UEFI partitions on the system drive (EFI System, Recovery, MSR Reserved, Primary).
Select the unallocated space that results and click the Next button. The installer will create the correct partitions and install Windows.
Run Windows Update repeatedly, even across reboots, until no more updates are found.
You may need/want to download and install the latest graphics driver from the Nvidia/AMD website (they change so regularly the latest version isn't always in the Windows libraries).

This is also worth a watch

Thank you guys for the help. There are some minidumps I found yesterday. However it told me that I didn't have admin permission to open the file, which is strange because my user profile is the only one on the pc. I will check again tomorrow and attempt the clean windows installation on Monday. I will report back with updates for further information.

You don't need to open them, just upload them.
