the laptop I have received is honestly the worst product I have ever used. I bought the laptop and it got to me sooner then expected. Was quite happy to start playing away at all the titles I frequent. but then I realised in every game I was playing that the game would drop to zero FPS for no reason. it drops from 150-160 to zero for about a second for no reason. the laptop scores in Intel utility does come anywhere near to other peoples that have bought the same laptop from this website. currently need the laptop as it is my only means of working. the laptop also thermal throttles well above the expected rate in Intel utility benchmark.

I have all the latest drivers. I have even tried different hard drive as the one that is in it from PCS is only 5400rpm, I installed a new OS. nothing changes the issues I am experiencing. I can't send the laptop back because I will no longer be able to work. what can I do.

It would help if you post the full spec of what you purchased.

the laptop scores in Intel utility
What are the scores of your laptop, and which scores are you comparing them to?

the laptop also thermal throttles well above the expected rate in Intel utility benchmark.
Could you post a screenshot? Or if you can't, can you upload a screenshot to something like imgur and link it here?

What are the CPU and GPU temps during gaming, before and during your FPS drops?

t drops from 150-160 to zero for about a second for no reason.
Just to be clear, are you saying that you get high framerate, that this drops for a second or so, and then after that it picks up again? So it's like a stutter?

As an aside, and because I suspect other people may want to make this point more robustly than I will, there's a difference between a new laptop having problems (even if these are problems that should have been picked up in QA but weren't) and a company actually being scammers. PCS aren't immune from making errors by any stretch (no company is) but scammers they are not. When I had had issues with their systems, they have always been committed to making things right.

I'm not optimistic people on the forums will be able to resolve the issues all overnight (especially as most are UK based and in bed or going to bed soon...), so you may find it best to call PCS first thing in the morning and set out the problems to them / ask how they will get these fixed for you.

yeah sorry gonna phone PCS in the morning. I'm just full on triggered at the moment as I spent 700 on the laptop and my brother did the same not to long back and has a product that should be the same but is totally inferior to his product. I will post all the things you have asked for in a moment.

gpu and cpu temps are about 65 when gaming. so no where near anything that should occur the stutters. they are just stutters and freeze game play for about 1 second.

I'm sorry to hear you're having problems, that's not common. Just so's you know, these fora are not an official PCS support channel and I would urge you to call PCS as soon as you can. Either you have some sort of hardware issue or some sort of software issue.

Did you buy this with Windows installed or did you install your own OS?

Do you by any chance have the Seagate Firecuda SSHD drive in there? Several other PCS customers have complained of dreadful performance with that drive, had you asked advice on here first we'd have steered you away from that.

Do call PCS, you'll find their after sales service is good, but please try to be calm and explain your problems logically and carefully. I know you're annoyed and frustrated, I would be too, but I'm sure PCS will sort out whatever your issue might be. Do let us know how you get on. :)

Hi OP,

I am very sorry to hear that you are seeing issues with your machine, naturally this is not the experience that we hope our customers would have. I would strongly urge you to give our support line a call today and hopefully we will be able to get to the bottom of the issues you are seeing here.

To clarify, as you have mentioned, the 5400 RPM drive you have here would not be ideal for gaming as we do highlight on the order page (see screenshot below) as it can cause bottle necking with Windows services.
