Hello.
My pc have had continuous fails to update, with the error code 0x8007000d. It goes up to 74% before it fails
It have said this before where a clean reinstalation of windows (from bootable usb) seemed to fix it. (see https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/forums/threads/sudden-crash-black-screen.77814/) I however think it would be a bit odd if every time there is a new windows update I would have to reinstall windows. I would therefor like to try difrent approahces.

I've tried the following:
Using the troubleshooter for windows update ( it did something the first time around: I then restarted the pc and tried to update again, with no dice)
Using the service app, to restart the windows update procces, and then restarted the pc. (still no dice)

I¨ve seen suggestions to run som DISM commands or other commands, but since I don´t know that much about the commands, and im not qiute sure of the source, I haven't run any of them.

Appears to be issues with this update as reported at following links

You could try installing it manually by downloading it from the Microsoft Update Catalog

Alternatively you could just pause Microsoft updates for a week or so, so that MS can correct the issues seen

So its not that vital I can install it right at this moment?
Where should I look to see if the issue have been resolved, or should I just try to update after a week?

Also I tried updating agian. This time it went to 100% shortly before failing

So am I right in thinking you have secure boot disabled?

A normal configuration would be as below:

dep-win10-partitions-uefi.png

Can someone else who has full UEFI partition setup post a screenshot of their c drive layout? I don't have secure boot enabled on my devices.

You can test it by going into UEFI recovery through windows settings, if it loads then your setup is ok, if it doesn't, then you know you're not configured with UEFI partitions.

Windows is now quite particular with UEFI and is almost enforcing it for a lot of things.

mind giving me a step by step?
Or is the following I found on google correct?
How to access UEFI (BIOS) using Settings
  1. Open Settings.
  2. Click on Update & Security.
  3. Click on Recovery.
  4. Under the "Advanced startup" section, click the Restart now button. Source: Windows Central.
  5. Click on Troubleshoot. ...
  6. Click on Advanced options. ...
  7. Click the UEFI Firmware settings option. ...
  8. Click the Restart button.

Its a glitch with that specific update, from what I could tell, its a security update that doesnt seem to recognise its been install already or fails its install but leaves entries behind and gets caught in a weird install fail loop.
Can try windows update troubleshooter, it eventually cleared it from mine, same issue on partners but troubleshooter didnt resolve, he had to remove it from windows update (said something about certificates....not sure what he is referring to) and then it ran it again and installed cleanly that time.

Easiest way for me is to use a service like imgur, then you can just post links across

If you copy the "BBCode" link with imgur, it will put the actual picture in the post by adding the img parameter/command bits
