Ok, after a lot of thought and budgetary consideration, I *think* I’m there with my configuration. Before I commit though, I’m hoping that one of you good folk would give it a once over for me.
To clarify my thought processes here, I’ve opted for a larger SSD so I can accommodate my Lightroom catalogue, previews and current projects. 32Gb of RAM is just too expensive at the moment, but I thought that I could add that at a later date as funds allow.
I’ve gone for 2 8Gb HDD as I have a lot of movies, TV shows and music to store, in addition to my photos and home videos.
Many thanks.

I agree about the RAM, it is a simple upgrade later on. Not sure about the HDDs, I have a massive music and video collection and 6TB is enough for it, although I do keep back ups but have them on external drives. Dropping to two 6TBs would save 50 quid.

Thanks for the reply Stephen. :) I’ve got around 6.5Tb of movies and music (a lot of Blu-ray), so am really just trying to anticipate how much extra capacity I’ll need over the next few years. Music isn’t likely to grow much as I’m a 60’s guy and have pretty much all the music I love from that era already. My wife has the occasional album, but nothing much. BR movies are between 18-35Gb each, but I admit I’ve never really done a comparison of quality next to a smaller, more compressed file.
