I suspect its just lazy coding by the development team and not an actual attempt to upload your particular taste in music to IKEA. Should highlight to people what can be done though, nobody would wave a random person in from the street then leave the room with the contents of their bank account sitting on the table. It's security flaws like this that allow the NSA/GCHQ to do what they do, might not be used by IKEA but it could be used by anyone else.
Back door to the NSA through Ikea? Have you seen an Ikea showroom, the NSA might have to circumnavigate all of the door nobs and tables before they could get to your data
Anyway, being American, the NSA can't understand other languages, so all IKEA have to do is label your data "Steakstrom" or "Mantakulla" and they'd be none the wiser
