Probably underspending on the GPU. Depending on the exact workloads.

The Optimus with a 1650 would be a better bet

If getting an SSD, get an M.2 one. Even a cheap M.2 one will be faster and also keep the 2.5" bay free for more choice re future storage additions

Instead of the H10 just go with the 970 Evo which is much faster. Or the SX6000 which is still much faster than what you originally had and not very expensive.

And you can drop the 240gb SSD from the 1st Storage Drive slot. :)

Hi there. I was wondering is it worth adding a second M2 SSD or an HDD? I've gone with the 500gb 970 EVO for now.

You can add more storage yourself any time in the future. It's a simple thing to do and very popular DIY upgrade.

So it may be best to stick to the single SSD, see how you go, then make decisions about what other storage you need.

What were you thinking of adding, and why? i.e. how would you be using your various drives / what are you putting on each?

Hi thanks again for the advice. I was just thinking in terms of backup really. Also, perhaps just using the SSD for the main OP and using the other drive to store files (video, photoshop, etc). Not sure to be honest! This is my first configured laptop.

Also, I noticed adding an another drive is not that expensive so was thinking maybe better have it done now rather than myself later on.

May be I'll just stick with your advice and just take the single SSD. However, if I were to add another drive, what do you suggest?
