Possible GPU Upgrade

I've been looking at updating the GPU in my PC as it's been a few years now, I currently have a Nvidia GeoForce GTX 1060 6GB.

I don't need anything top of the range but would like something better, the problem is the PSU in the PC. The PC specs are

i7-5820K no overclock currently
32GB DDR4 2400MHz
Samsung Evo NVME SSD 250GB
Samsung Evo 860 2TB
Corsair 550w VS power supply.

I was looking at something like a 2060 or 2070, non super version, but not sure if the power supply would be an issue? If a new PSU was needed as well this would need to wait a while.

Any advice welcome.

What monitor are you pairing it with, what resolution and refresh rate?

What's the PC used for?

The monitor is a Acer Predater Xx34P running around 3440*1440, it can go up to 120Hz

The PC is mainly used for web development, editing a few videos and now a few games. At the moment MS Flight Simulator

You really need a 2080 Super to power that monitor.

The PSU should cope happily up to a 2070 Super.

If you wait a few weeks for the nvidia 3000 announcement on the 1st September, you may find prices on the 2000 series start to fall. That’s pure guess work, but could well happen.

I love that monitor, one of the first ultrawides and still significantly better than a lot of newer ones!
