Power lead for 2nd GPU

I'm looking at getting a second GTX 670 soon so I can run it in SLI and was just curious about something.

My current 670 has two 6 pin lead powering it, now I know that some GPU's can require 8 pin leads or a mixture of both, however, when I have looked at my remaining leads coming from my PSU I could only see another two 6 pin leads. They did, however, have a separate 2 pin connection branching of each connection.

What I was wondering is if this acts as the extra 2 pins to make an 8 pin connection or are by used for something else entirely?

My 6 pin connections have an extra 2 pin connection to make it an 8 pin connection so its likely that is what yours are too. You can also get adapters to make extra 6/8 pin connections out of other connections if required so you should be ok there
