Question about performance

I recently bought a custom PC from PC Specialist and would just like to know whether the performance of it sounds about right.

So I bought a very basic computer with the specs as follows:

Processor: Intel Core i3 4130CPU @ 3.4ghz (4CPUs)
Memory: 2GB
Graphics Card: Intel HD Graphics 4400 (Memory: 1GB)

As a benchmark, I get around 15-20 fps average when playing the popular game League of Legends on max settings and the performance is quite sluggish in general. I know this computer isn't built for gaming in mind but I was just wondering if this sounds about right.

Yup that sounds about right. The HD4000 graphics are terrible for gaming really. If you want to improve them get a (pretty much any!) discrete graphics card.

Intel Integrated graphics definitely won't give you good performance at all. Although if you are using it on max settings now, lower the settings and you will be able to get a better frame rate. Of course if you want to use it for gaming, then as suggested by Steaky, you need a discrete graphics card from Nvidia or AMD. You can pick up a relatively decent card for around £40 now which will give you decent performance in LoL

Turn the graphic settings down :) Integrated are normally fine for games like that but you have to be prepared to sacrifice some settings to achieve an enjoyable frame rate.

If you've saved a bit of money since you bought it then Nvidia have just released the GTX 750 which is about £80-£90. It would be a fantastic addition for games like LoL and wouldn't have any issues bottlenecking the CPU. It really is as easy as pop the card into the spare PCI-e slot, plug the PSU cables in and away you go :)
