Questions about a i7 Enigma 3 and battery life

I'm considering purchasing a Enigma 3 540 with the GT540M 2GB video card with a 2Ghz i7 processor, My question is will this negatively impact my battery life significantly over a i5 (Like, enough to offset the benefits of being quicker) and also are there no extended batteries available for the model

No the difference won't be significant, I don't think that you'd notice any difference in battery life to be honest with the way the CPU's manage their clock speeds.
