Questions about Extra Case Fans

I'm looking to buy a computer and I'm a little confused with adding extra case fans. I want everything to be decent of course so I'm slightly paranoid with buying the 12CM black case fans that are offered that apparently vary. I was just wondering if anyone has brought them for their build before and if so, how well did they perform? What is the average RPM?, etc. Can the 2CM black case fans also be controlled via the motherboard? I'll be using the Asus Prime Z370-P motherboard which has cooling controls so I'd want the fans to be controlled automatically. (Sorry if it's a silly question)

The simple case fans are, or at least used to be, Akasa Apache Black fans.

In generally I don't recommend adding them as either they're not necessary, or you should be looking at a different case anyway.

What's the budget, what are you using the system for, and what's your prospective spec currently?
