Hopefully will be ordering 1 of the 2 specs in the next week or so, although this is providing a finance agreement goes through so might have to be after xmas, lets hope not.

Laptop is wanted pretty much for gaming, a desktop is out of the question, due to space and a not game friendly missus :p

Mainly be playing SWTOR, but wouldnt mind a dabble on games like BF3 and skyrim so I dont have to rely on the xbox or PS3.

Now, my main query is 2 x 560m worth it over the 6990? From what I have read in ideal situations the SLI version out performs the 6990, but with the added potential issues of SLI in general, and for games that dont support SLI I would obviously only have 1 x 560m, which lets be honest is certainly less than desirable.
And of course with the Viper I am stuck with a glossy screen. I have no plans of using the laptop outside, and other than a light above where I would be sitting there shouldnt be too much glare, but better going matte and not taking the risk I am starting to think.

The price difference between the 2 is very small, so not so much a problem, just wanted to know your guys opinions. Been struggling to find many benchmarks gamewise for the 2 x 560m, so if any of you helpful campers have duel 560m cards and could throw some fps numbers my way I would be very grateful.

The HD 6990M is certainly a very popular graphics card but nothing can beat 2 x GTX 560, not even a GTX 580.

If you're using the laptop inside choose glossy as this is by far the best/brightest picture display, especially when gaming with the room darkened. :)
