Ram GHz

Afternoon all!

Purchased my build a few months ago.

Currently have 16GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR4 2666MHz (2 x 8GB)

However, when I open CPU-Z, I only have an NB frequency of 1330.2 MHz.

I'm not sure if this is me being dumb, but should I not be expecting 2666MHz performance noted?
Is there where I need to overclock memory? I'm using the Gigabyte Aorus B450 motherboard.

DDR = Double Data Rate

What I'm telling you is that the RAM is running at 2666MHz like what you paid for.

It's double, so you get 2 cycles per clock.

This is what CPU-Z looks like for my 2400MHz DDR3, for instance:

As above. DDR RAM performs a read/write operation on both the leading and trailing edges of each clock pulse, so you get two operations per clock tick.

If you are interested in trying to overclock RAM beyond the 2666MHz it appears to be running at, this might be of interest:

RAM overclocking is possibly a bit more complex or fiddly than CPU and GPU overclocking, so you may decide you don't want to dabble.
