RAM issue

Also sent this to PCS tech support, figured I'd ask here as well to see if anyone has any idea:

I'm having issues with the RAM I'm trying to use for my Genesis IV. I have 2x8GB modules of 1600MHz DDR3, however I cannot get the laptop to recognise more than 4GB (this figure is shown both in BIOS, and in 64-bit Windows 7). I've tried all possible combinations of each of those modules and including the 2GB module it came with.
Unfortunately I don't have another laptop handy capable of 8GB modules so I can test them, however I have a friend with an Optimus III in which I can test them the weekend of 6th/7th Oct.

Now, it can't be that the Genesis IV doesn't support that config of RAM, since you can get sets of 2x8GB 1600MHz with it.
The 2GB 1333Mhz module that came with it reports correctly.

I figure I should try and update the BIOS, though I'm assuming it came installed with the latest - currently installed BIOS is 1.00.04
