Received my build and I have a problem

Randomly on any type of power on state (Full off or even wake from sleep) My H100I Elite AIO will not light up, upon reaching windows and opening ICUE it will show as an unknown device. The pump and fans seem to be doing their job, after a few seconds the fans will start to flash red to show an error (if i load the system the fans will not ramp up). If i force update the AIO firmware in ICUE it will come alive and all will be well. It might even do a few power on's without the issue, but the issue will always return. I've trawled the corsair forums and problems seem to be very common, but this exact error seems to be just me and all the fixes i've tried do not have a lasting effect. Anyone got any ideas?

I got the build last week and this error has been there since first power on.

Thanks for your time.

I see you ordered with no OS, have you transferred an existing Windows license over or are you using something else like a Linux distro?

I bought a new license and just used the OS that was installed i assume to test the system. Upgraded to windows 10 pro though.

We always advise against using the installed OS. Even though PCS say it's a full system, it was installed only so that they could test the PC. We've had countless reports of silly issues from people activating the PCS testing system. If you order with no OS then we (at least me) strongly advise clean installing your own copy.

I will do this but as the problem is from power on, I can't see it being an OS issue. This problem has existed from even before I touched windows, the very first boot of the system had this issue. Alas I will get back to you.

Just finished the full windows reinstall, did full windows updates and optional updates, installed armoury crate for MB drivers etc and did a full install of them, installed Nvidia drivers for the card and lastly installed Icue for the cooler. After first cold boot same issue was present.

What MB drivers did you install via Crate out of interest? I generally avoid Crate, I don't think it adds much value and causes more issues if anything.

Wouldn't surprise me if the AIO is faulty having said all that, so I'd be contacting PCS to organise a return and replacement.

I had a similar problem in iCUE not registering the AIO if I had ArmoryCrate installed.

In the end I simply ran ArmoryCrate once to set the motherboard lights, and then completely removed it.

iCUE now sees all the Corsair components, including the Commander Pro I installed afterwards.

So my suggestion would be to completely remove ArmoryCrate - although I seem to remember I had to run an uninstaller from Asus as the uninstall process in Windows doesn’t remove everything.

Just thought i'd drop back in to say it would seem the problem is solved... I do not know what fixed it exactly. I actually installed everything again but in a complete different order and made sure I did all of Armoury crate first, rebooted, then installed Icue rebooted. and it just seemed to solve the issue. Very thankful tbh.
