Is it just for gaming? Are you playing only in 1 screen? I'd suggest getting the GTX 670 or GTX 680 2gb if gaming in 1 screen, the 4gb Vram is beneficial if you are playing at high resolutions. The i7-3930k will be good if you are running more cpu intensive applications but if it is just for gaming the i5 will do.

YEP just for gaming my brother brought the exact same spec as mine and when he plays bf3 on ultra the gpu temp is hitting 90 to 100 the alarm on the pc goes mad.

Yar, if you wanted to save some money, for bf3 on one monitor you'd get the same performance out of the i5 + 670/80, 8gb ram and a cheaper mobo. Between the two set ups you're talking about a difference of 2 - 3 FPS

Check the fan controller is on auto or increase the fan speed in the nvidia driver panel.

It may also have a faulty fan or is not venting properly because no gpu should overheat in this day and age.
