Patiently awaiting delivery of my 17” Recoil. I know the battery is built in but is there any worth in removing it to avoid it being damaged as I intend to use it mainly plugged in or is it required to stay in place ?

Modern laptops require the battery in place even if they're plugged into the mains as they still use some power from the battery anyway under load.

Many thanks.
No worries. Best advice I can suggest, when you're not using it, don't leave the power live (even if the laptop is fully switched off), as that can cause trickle charging which can degrade the laptop.

Regularly service the laptop to keep it free from dust and help temps.

Heat is the worst degrader of batteries, so make sure it's not sitting in bright sunlight where possible.
