Red Flashing Light

I have noticed a red flashing light on my motherboard and I am not sure if this is normal? My computer seems to still be working fine, I am just concerned about this red flashing light. I have put an image and specs below. If anyone knows what this is, I would greatly appreciate it.

Have you still got the plastic film on the glass panel? That would drive my OCD crazy!

Sorry, can't make out the red light you're referring to in that photo, can you open the case and take a photo?

I think I'm right in saying the M.2 drive is under that grey heatsink below the CPU. The PCS M.2's have a little red light that flashes to indicate drive activity at their top right corner, which would be just about where you are seeing that glow perhaps?

My guess would be that it's just the M.2 LED flashing away under the heatsink. Try searching through folders on that drive and see if the light responds to your clicks.

AFAIK, that part where there's a tiny red glow is just a reflective metal surface, there's no light there.

It's likely a reflection from somewhere, could be possibly the GPU or pump head.

Oh? I had a look and can't really see any red light on the GPU or pump head. To me, it looks like it's coming from the inside of the part I've circled below, any idea what that is? Thank you.

This is my M.2 for reference - my second one so in a different location to yours..... I think this is what you're seeing under the heatsink. (y)

Oh okay, if that's the case, then is the red flashing light normal then? :)

Yes. It's just saying that you're drive is in use. Perfectly normal. My primary drive is the same PCS M.2 and flickers whenever anything is being read or written to the C Drive - which is rather a lot of the time!

Amazing! That's a relief, thank you very much. I am starting on some really important projects so that light has probably always been there but I just noticed it today because I was checking everything was in order.

Good spot, you're absolutely right.
