reinstalling windows 7 HELP

Selling my old pc specialist machine. Want to wipe it clean and reinstall win 7 ultimate. I put original disc in, when i restart machine i lose the use of mouse & keyboard so cannot select any options to continue with reinstall. I haveblimited computer knowledge and pc is being picked up this afternoob. Any help appreciated

Are the USB ports connecting the keyboard and mouse usb3 by any chance?

if so move them to USB 2 ports and it should work.

Also make sure you do a fresh installation otherwise a windows.old file will be created with everything from your old installation that will be accessible by the new owner.

At the start you have the option to specify a custom install, then the next bit is selecting where you want to install to and deleting current partitions.
