Replacement PC

I have had my last pcs desktop for 13 years now and am looking to upgrade to a new one. I mainly use it for Office work along with some gaming such as Total War, battlefield etc. Nothing too heavy at the moment but may look at some newer titles (not online).
My current monitor is an ACER S242HL 1080p.
I'm looking to spend around £1500 to include the Office suite.
I have just used the configurator for the spec below, so not sure if I have gone overboard or if it is a good mix. I'd like some future proofing if possible. Any help greatly appreciated.

Heya! We can definitely sort something for you. I see you've gone for a DVD Drive, is this vital? If you're able to use a USB DVD drive when required it would massively open up case choice for you

Hi, thanks for responding. My previous set up had one, but at the end of the day, an external DVD drive would work if it helps with the overall build.

The externals that PCS use are very good, just use 2 USB ports, mine lives in the cupboard most of the time as does the one I've got for my laptop

Awesome! In the name of performance, I've gone for a platform change- 10th gen is now a couple of generations old (so already outdated) and I feel AMD offer slightly better value for money at this tier. Any questions, ask away!

Case
CORSAIR 4000D AIRFLOW TEMPERED GLASS GAMING CASE Much nicer case now we've gotten rid of the disc drive, if you're happy with a bit of RGB then the Lian Li 215 is likely a better option
Processor (CPU)
AMD Ryzen 5 5600 Six Core CPU (3.5GHz-4.4GHz/35MB CACHE/AM4) Swapped to an AMD build as I feel they offer slightly better price to performance in this tier. The 5600 is a solid all round CPU
Motherboard
ASUS® TUF GAMING B550-PLUS (DDR4, USB 3.2, 6Gb/s) - ARGB Ready! Ample motherboard for the 5600
Memory (RAM)
16GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR4 3200MHz (2 x 8GB) Fast RAM is vital, especially for an AMD system, this 3200mhz kit is the sweetspot
Graphics Card
8GB AMD RADEON™ RX 6600 - HDMI, DP - DX® 12 This AMD card offers similar performance (within about 10% dependant on source) but is £100 less so a FAR better value card. If you felt like a monitor upgrade for your games this'd go really nicely with a 1080p 144hz monitor like the AOC 24G2U
1st M.2 SSD Drive
1TB PCS PCIe M.2 SSD (3300 MB/R, 2900 MB/W) Upped your SSD for more game storage, you don't want games loading on a HDD in 2022!
1st Storage Drive
1TB SEAGATE BARRACUDA SATA-III 3.5" HDD, 6GB/s, 7200RPM, 64MB CACHE
External DVD/BLU-RAY Drive
8x Slim USB 2.0 External DVD-RW Aformentioned DVD Drive
Power Supply
CORSAIR 750W RMx SERIES™ MODULAR 80 PLUS® GOLD, ULTRA QUIET Significant upgrade to the PSU, this unit is both higher quality and higher wattage which really increases your future upgradability
Power Cable
1 x 1.5 Metre UK Power Cable (Kettle Lead)
Processor Cooling
CoolerMaster Hyper 212 (120mm) Fan CPU Cooler Black Edition
Thermal Paste
STANDARD THERMAL PASTE FOR SUFFICIENT COOLING
Sound Card
ONBOARD 6 CHANNEL (5.1) HIGH DEF AUDIO (AS STANDARD)
Network Card
10/100/1000 GIGABIT LAN PORT
Wireless Network Card
WIRELESS INTEL® Wi-Fi 6 AX200 2,400Mbps/5GHz, 300Mbps/2.4GHz PCI-E CARD + BT 5.0 The AX200 WiFi card will be all you need
USB/Thunderbolt Options
MIN. 2 x USB 3.0 & 2 x USB 2.0 PORTS @ BACK PANEL + MIN. 2 FRONT PORTS

Thanks for the feedback guys, very much appreciated.
I can live with the external DVD, I'm old school when everything was loaded on disc.
The rig will be in my living room so I'll stick with the Corsair case.
I read on the forums that AMD was the preferred choice now so happy with your recommendations. I will go ahead with this.
Again, really appreciate your help guys.
