Replacement PSU question

Hello all,

One of my PCSpecialist PC is making quite the racket and I'm pretty certain it's coming from the PSU (so it's probably the fan). The unit was bought in 2010, it's a "450W Quiet 80 PLUS Dual Rail PSU + 120mm Case Fan" according to my order history (luckily still on file!).

Of all the things I've never replace, the PSU is one. Could someone advise me what make and model to replace it with?

thank you

Try to look for the same one but any standard PSU will be fine. Depending on your budget you could consider a corsair PSU. Before you replace the PSU I would suggest calling technical support to make sure the noise is coming from the PSU. You can also use the upgrade service.

Might it be worth trying to find out how long the manufacturers warranty is on the PSU, as sometimes (often) their warranty is longer than the PCS one.

Are all PSU the same size (I mean dimensions) you just unscrew one and slide another in? I guess theres no harm going for a more powerful one either.

I'd go for at least a 650W to be honest to give you headroom in future. Have a look at the Corsair modular PSUs.
