I don't get what you mean. Do you want PCS to start selling Alienware laptops?

So, you want PCS to start selling PC's that are in direct competition with themselves, um .......

why?

you can get similar specs to alienware laptops using the Optimus/Vortex chassis. my Optimus III is equal to (if not better than) the Alienware 14x for a lot less.

I don't know if you all are misunderstanding me. XoticPC made AWs available at cheaper prices than what Dell are selling and it is possible to configure the AW's components just like the Clevo (Not possible if you buy via Dell). An M17X R4 with the same spec as a P170EM from XoticPC was only $200-$300 extra if you've always wanted a AW but was put off by the price of what Dell was asking. What I meant as a "game changer in UK custom laptop" was that everyone in UK who wanted a AW that could only buy from Dell UK can now buy from PCS at a bargain price and Clevo customizability. So more business for PCS no?

I mean just take a look and you'll understand. http://www.xoticpc.com/custom-gaming...95_51_402.html

So you are willing to pay $300 extra for a picture of an alien?

Just print a picture of an alien off and glue it to the back

No, we do not wish to sell Alienware cases. If you have deep pockets please go here <snip>

Please do not post links to competitor sites, as per the forum rules. Further infringements of these rules will result in a temporary suspension, with a ban to follow for repeat offence.

You can see a full list of forum rules...somewhere around here.

I agree with what your saying, but in a psychological view point- people are definitely willing to pay for a brand just because of its brand name- hence brand loyalty etc. why people only buy nike and not adidas etc etc., so if it is possible, for sure PCS could make a good profit from it I imagine, just because how kids think ''wow i'm getting an alienware... it looks so epic''

just because how adults think ''wow i'm getting a PCS... I didnt waste £300''

Quite appropriaw ^^

indeed. if you try and build an exact copy of an Alienware computer using the PCS configurator... its a lot cheaper. an Optimus III 17.3" is about £300 pounds cheaper than its Alienware counterpart (the 14" MX14). go figure :)

tbf I can see his point. People do buy things because of their name. Alienware is a big name, a lot bigger than PCSpecialist. Selling AW PCs would bring more business to the website.

If you want an Alienware (or a dell really with a funny face badge) why not just go straight to Alienware. I cant see the point in PCS doing this.

I was going to originally buy an X51 for my new computer until i read about all the nightmare problems that owners are having, which is how i came about finding PCS. If you really want to see what Alienware machines are like and all the problems owners face look here: http://en.community.dell.com/owners-club/alienware/default.aspx

If what your really saying is that Alienware computers have no customisation options, poor choice of components with a weak GPU for a massively over inflated price then i do agree on that point. I think you will find that this is THE reason people look elsewhere when buying a PC. Alienware is just a badge slapped on what is internally a Dell XPS machine now, they used to be good but they are not worth the trouble any more in my opinion. Alienware and Dell do not have the good reputation that they used to carry especially after the X51 debacle.

I wont pay £300 extra for a machine purely because it has a silly alien face on it. PCS will not get a better reputation for linking up with the likes of Dell.
