Hello all.

Please take a look at this spec ( I am not a PC wizard ) I need a PC for photo editing, and file convertion. As you will understand camera files are very large thsee days so I want something that can hadle this with too much lag while it thinks about what to do. However if anyone can see where I can make some savings without any noticable difference in performace this would be most welcome

Thank you

Hi!

You almost hit the nail on the head, a couple of suggestions though:

Graphics: Off hand can not remember if conversion is purely CPU or weather the graphics gets used as well, If you can afford it might be worth updating this to a GTX4 series, the GTTX460 is a very good option.

Hard Drive: You will get much better speed out of the Caviar Black with 64mb cache, maybe the 640GB model. This has better performance over the standard SATA models.

Sound: Do you really need the sound card? On board sound is more than enough these days unless your really into music mix/edit. You wont really notice a difference otherwise.

Warranty: Don't forget the silver warranty! Only £5 and you get a 11months more collect and return warranty..

Hope this helps!
