After choosing to spend little under £1100 on a new laptop i wanted it to be future proof ,sturdy and have good looks.
I knew the insides were future proof enough to not have to worry about this ,but not having much information on the casing I had nightmares that i had made a major mistake and the casing was as flimsy and crap as the plastic on an old commodore 64 with keys to match (all thermo-plastic and clacky), but couldn't be more blown away by the quality and sturdiness of the case I unleashed from the packaging!!, I read in 1 of the reviews that they compared the case to something batman would have (matte black with no insignias #see picture) and can see exactly what they mean!, the case looks expensive and dare i say it sexy ,and brings a smile to my face every time I look upon it and realise its mine.

The hinges to the screen are sturdy and strong(#see picture) and lead up to a strong looking screen surround that when the screen is on makes it look seamless/rimless and shows the screen to maximum effect. The lower half of the case feels sturdy and silky and is very comfortable to rest your hands on for any length of time whilst using the keyboard or responsive touch pad.

The screen is amazing and can be seen from any angle/direction, and is laser sharp and crisp with not only the Intel HD Graphics 4600 but the NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 870M used to maximum effect.

One of my favourite features is the backlit keys that don't just come in 1 colour ,but can be changed at the press of a button to ANY user defined colour!!! ,and a very nice selection of light patterns to show that colour off to maximum effect and makes the keyboard a pleasure to use.

The speakers are VERY nice and definitely don't have that usual tininess/low power sound we have all had to get used to in the past ,and with the added sub-woofer underneath a definite bass increase is felt and heard (tested with full grizzly dub-step track and was very happy).

Have played hours of game play at full settings, and temp only raised nominally and certainly no staggers/glitches on any of the games displays,
not sure if any of them are high users of the graphics card , but list includes : Bound by flame, Dark souls, Darksiders 2, Dead island, Dishonoured, Legend of Eisenwald, Metro:last light, Transistor.

To sum up I have no doubts the people at PC specialist have put together a monster of a machine for me, and I have no doubt that the money spent on it is entirely justifiable, as it brings all the qualities I wanted from my new machine in bucket fulls!!!, and as mentioned makes me smile like a little boy on Christmas morning every time I use it, and that is surely a feeling that we all would want from a purchase, and that type of happiness doesn't usually have a price tag put upon it but has been achieved by the makers of this machine ,so thanks to all the staff at PC specialist that made this purchase possible.

Nice review and I'm chuffed that you're so happy with your purchase, but as you said you could choose ANY colour you liked for the backlit keyboard....did you have to pick pink? I mean PINK!

The next thing you know you'll be off to the pub with you're mates and ordering a woo woo! :)

Repped!

Lol, I can see what you mean PokerFace :) , I chose the pink for the picture as i have never seen a laptop with this colour backlit keys, and wanted to show that the choose ANY colour really does mean any colour and not just the usual ones that everyone offers with other brands.

Plus its summer so any cocktail by the beach is good :), and I think they only sell pink woo woo's in Brighton during pride week ;-) x

Nice review :) Just curious about the backlit keyboard if you really mean ANY colour (and if so, how), or do you mean choose from the 7 or 8 in shown in the palette....i'm just wondering if i've missed a trick with mine ?

daveeb on the hotkey option for backlight 1 of them brings up an option screen and on that option screen there is a colour wheel where you can set user defined colour :) hope that helps

Thanks CK, seems i have a different version of the software which only allows me to choose 8 colours, definitely no option to select the "colour wheel" that others seem to have. I now have a different version of the hotkey software (thanks Spyder Tracks) which i'll install when i can forget my "aint broke don't fix it" rule.
