All looks fine. I would personally change the storage to 500GB Primary M2 & a 1TB secondary M2..... but that's just the way I like to have it as I don't want to have to re-install my games etc in case of a reformat/issue.

With games, the fast load speeds of the M2 drives do make a small difference, in comparison to SSDs etc, but there isn't a lot in it between fast M2s. With that in mind I always recommend the 500GB Primary to be as fast as affordable, in your case the 980 Pro, with the secondary M2 drive being the 1TB PCS Option (still a great drive and very fast). You need to click "more storage options" to see the second M2 option.

I wouldn't bother with the RAM personally. With the latency taken into account they perform identically. You get to keep the RGB with the 3200Mhz which is always nice.

There is honestly not a thing I would change, maybe the 3080 to get any 3080 that's available as opposed to that specific model unless your heart is really set on the ASUS ROG Strix 3080

Maybe add another M2 drive for the OS and nothing else?

Wow they really weren't kidding with Xmas delivery not guaranteed. A rejig of the storage is the only thing I'd suggest. a 500GB 980 PRO for Windows, a 1TB PCS M.2 for games and apps and a 2TB HDD for general file storage would be a solid option. And realisitcally for gaming there's not much point in going 3600. 3200 is currently the sweetspot for AMD and you won't see drastic framerate differences by upgrading. If you were to be using the PC for creative purposes (photo/ video editing for example) then the 3600 speed would be worth it.

Edit: Gah!! The dastardly green bar! Also a good suggestion from @Steveyg changing to the standard 3080 as you'll hopefully get a card quicker. Although with the STRIX being my favourite card design, I don't blame you if you want to stick to it 😂

superb, thank you for your suggestions.

i've added a 500gb m.2 for windows. i don't think i'll use much of the 4tb hdd for storage anyway so i don't think i'll add a further harddrive for storage space.

thanks for the heads up on the RAM i just thought i'd have a quick re-check so that i'm not disappointed when it arrives and i realise i could've changed something while it was still in pre-prod. i've waited 92 days for the 3080 so i'm happy to wait a little longer the rog-strix variant.

Just be sure to have the 500GB drive as M2 drive 1 and have the 1TB drive as M2 drive 2. If you have it the other way around they will install the OS on the 1TB drive rather than the 500GB drive.

i didn't do this initially but i hve just now so thanks for that, i was trying to find an option to choose which drive i had windows on.. and the fact i couldn't should've sparked the thought..

appreciate your help bud.
