Rip-off ram?

Hi, I just bought some ram from scan and it is supposed to be running at 1600mhz but speccy is only showing it running at 800mhz.
Is this a common problem with this ram? It's hyper-x fury 1600mhz. I was going to contact kingston about it and get a refund to go for a corsair module instead.

It's normal for apps like Speccy to show half the ram frequency for DDR (double data ram)

DDR stands for double data rate. Speccy only shows the single data rate which is 800mhz.
It is running at 1600mhz so nothing to worry about. Kingston is a good brand.
