Running Ubuntu 20.04

Hi everyone, first post so go easy !!!

I need to upgrade my laptop, which is now starting to bend in the middle when its picked up !!! I use Ubuntu 20.04 and Im quite happy to reinstall rebuild kernels, drivers etc ..

So does anyone have any experience on running ubuntu on the below spec? Any experiences you have would be greatly appreciated, positive or negative.

Not that particular model but I have run Ubuntu on a Defiance. Cannot remember any major problems. Currently everything seems to work better installing in safe graphic mode and staying with Nouveau drivers.

Nvidia drivers have been tricky in the past, log in loops being a regular, although fixable by purging through a ptty terminal then choosing the correct driver, not always the latest.

Looks ok, without knowing all uses difficult to comment. A lot of RAM but assume your were doing stuff that needed it.

Thanks for the reply. I chose the large amount of memory as I run several virtual machines and they lock out quite a lot of ram.
