My daughter has purchased a second monitor to go with her AMD RX 5600 XT card but it's not being detected?
I got her to download the latest drivers and reboot the computer.

1st Monitor 27" monitor plugged in via HDMI port
2nd Monitor 22" plugged in via DP

Not got her to swap them around yep, but should I get her to use the large monitor with the DP and the smaller monitor with HDMI?

Not tested the second monitor myself as she is at Uni

Any ideas?

Is this a PCSpecialist system? Can you post your full specs from the order page?

I will have to email her regarding the specs, purchased two machines from here.
I'll take your word for it, don't worry about the specs.

Couple of considerations to look for:

1/. Check the input channel on the monitor, make sure it's set to the correct input, ie dp, hdmi etc.

2/. Make sure windows has the second monitor configured, you need to state what you want to do with that monitor space ie, extend the desktop, or duplicate it etc. Just right click on the desktop and select display settings.

3/. Try with another cable if those things fail.

The primary monitor if being used for gaming should always be display port. A secondary is fine on HDMI.

From what I can gather the primary monitor has been plugged in via HDMI and not DP, I get her to swap this around. At work, we use GPU cards with python and conda, I have no idea about gaming cards :)

I get her to turn off the machine and swap cables, I let you know if this solves the problem. The second monitor could be faulty, but hard to tell at the moment (giving support via WhatsApp)

All sorted

After taking a picture I see the problem, the small monitor needs to be plugged into the first DP port and not the 3rd one :) Made the Large monitor the primary one and now works... blimey that was hard and all done via whatsapp:)

Now if only I could fix the cuda problems at work with Unbuntu :)

Sometimes tech support needs some extra tech support.
