Screen Failed on Ionica 15.6 Equivalent

Dear All,

I am hoping you might be able to help. The screen on my laptop has failed and its out of warranty. The screen works perfectly for about 10-15 seconds upon booting up (i see the logo screen and occasionally get to windows login) but then everything starts fading to black and it becomes completely unresponsive. The also happens in the BIOS so i suspect the screen needs replacing, although its confusing that it works perfectly for 10-15 seconds every time so i wonder if its the screen or something else thats failing? Fortunately it still works on an external monitor so i can still use the laptop.

I did not buy this laptop from PC Specialists, but i bought it from Aftershock in Singapore (but now i live in Portugal). I am wondering if you are familiar with this issue and if you think a screen replacement will fix the problem? If so, am able to buy a replacement screen from PCspecialists? I could get it repaired locally if you are able to sell the parts.

Unfortunately aftershock does not have any spare screens in stock and says the parts are end of life. The laptop is the equivalent of the Ionica 15.6.

Tongfang Model Number = GM5TN7Y
Screen Specs = 15.6 QHD 165Hz 2560x1440
Aftershock Model Number = Vapor 15x
Specs = 3070, i7 11800H

Other Brand Names (I think) =
PC Specialist Ionico 15
Eluktronics MAX-15 (2021)

Thank you very much for any advice you can offer.

Cheers,
Iain

Without a PCSpecialist account I’m afraid you won’t be eligible for any support through PCS. Why not ask the place you bought it from for further help sourcing something.

No problem and than you for responding. I was able to get confirmation of the replacement part number today. Just incase anyone else has the same problem in the future and comes across this post, the replacement screen screen model number is NE156QHM-NY2. I have ordered one and will get a local repair shop to fit it and hopefully thats problems solved... :)

For anyone reading, all SIs (System Integrators) use they're own models of screens and components, so what this persons SI in Singapore used won't be the same as what PCS use. BIOS and control center versions will be different as well, BIOS controls voltages to the backlights of the screen, control center controls brightness. What works on one SI model doesn't necessarily work on anothers. Don't assume parts are interchangeable and always contact PCS in the first stage who can give you specific part number if they're run out of spare parts themselves.
