Service Manual Vortex IX

I'd like a copy of the service manual for my Vortex.. I had one for my last laptop from PC Specialist which was really useful when repasting etc.

I've asked support for one and they sent me a few pics on the dismantling pages but cannot send me a full manual.

Can anyone advise where I can get one? I've checked the clevo website and this model isn't listed - B50_70RF,RD,RC

There might be copyright or commercial confidentiality reasons. They may just not have an electronic copy. I'm sure that if they could send you one they would.

I'm going to raise this with customer services, the manual is part of ownership.

Thank you... it had the standard user manual when I bought it but I plan on repasting at some time and would appreciate knowing what screws to remove etc.

Yeah, I had a search online but can’t find one anywhere for that model, I’ll let you know as soon as I hear something.

I did think of that. .however as Clevo is aimed at the enthusiast end of the market I would hope that they would be available.

I would expect so too, I was just trying to think of valid reasons why PCS couldn't send you one.

Just to update... PC Specialist are unable to provide a manual.. no reason was given.

It's disappointing as these references are really useful.

I did manage to find a manual for a similar chassis on prema so all is not lost.

Sadly not.. just that they couldn't provide me with a full manual.. they could send photos of specific sections. I think this is what annoyed me the most tbh. Clevo laptops are aimed at high end users.. i assume that we are expected to repaste them. Therefore it seems sensible to request a service manual. Prema has them.. just not for my specific chassis.

I've said this already but I very much doubt that PCS are just being awkward, I rather suspect there is a legal reason why they can't send you a copy of the entire manual.

I agree it's the most likely reason why they can't help.. but they haven't stated that. I'd be happy to complain to Clevo if I knew that was the case. It does seem odd though that Prema has manuals available for the same series of laptops if there is a legal issue.
