service review

I was delighted with the 3 day service pc specialist offered, especially as they changed it to a 4 day service as I was messing them about! delivery was faultless.

I am however a little dissapointed with some aspects of the pc.

within seconds of setting it up i was getting bombarded with virus warnings, so many infact that I resorted to reinstalling windows 8. This has meant that some of the pre installed software is no longer there and also the eject button above the keyboard no longer works, I presume because the drivers are not there any more after doing an OS reinstall. I installed the drivers disk that came with the PC but this hasnt fixed this (minor) issue. This is all I have spotted as being an issue so far as I haven't had that much chance to use the pc yet.

My question would be why on earth did my pc come with viruses?!

Other than this rather serious issue the service I have received so far has been great.

Hi,

It won't have come with viruses, unless something horrible has gone wrong! Did you opt into the free antivirus trial?

There isn't any pre-installed software unless you specifically request some, PCS pc's come pretty much bare with nothing installed (its one of the reasons I like them!)

Installing the drivers should have fixed the eject button, but you might be able to 'map' that button somehow, cant figure out how at the minute but I'm sure there must be a way!

Yes, did you have any malware software installed? In my experience pop up messages from an anti-virus are more likely to be false positives or a result of a setting that is set to notify of you of every little thing you didn't want to be told of.

It would seem odd that PCS wouldn't have noticed a virus message frenzy when they tested the machine.
Is your firewall functioning, or could there be a firewall conflict?
