A couple of times now my computer has claimed that it is shutting down, as requested, but only manages to disconnect the mouse and keyboard. Hours later it is still claiming that it is shutting down. I have had to resort to cutting the power.
On re-starting, Windows complains that it was not shut down properly and offers Safe Mode etc. It will, albeit slowly, restart normally.
How unusual is this? Should I worry? Is there a preferred way of helping the computer shut down without offending it?
