Slow WIFI on new Recoil 17 Laptop

Hi,

I received my new PC specialist laptop a few days ago and the WIFI has been excruciatingly slow, can barely load a single webpage, and also constantly dropping out and disconnecting. My phone + work laptop have perfect WIFI speeds, even when sat right next to my PCS laptop

Things I have tried that haven't worked:
Restarting Laptop
Restarting Router
Moving Laptop closer
Disabling and re-enabling wifi Network Adapter in device manager
Uninstalling and re-installing Network Adapter in device manager
I do not have a VPN/other program affecting my connection

note: I haven't tried connecting physically to the router via ethernet because I dont have a cable, but thats not really an option because my router is not in my office - really need the WIFI to be working!

Please if anyone has any ideas, I would appreciate your help because this laptop is basically a paperweight if I cant actually download/play anything.
Thanks!

Have you applied all windows updates and optional updates? Until then windows won't be configured.

Can you post a screenshot of your network adapters page?

What antivirus are you using?

edit: Doing some research I saw that some other Laptop users with the same problem: their antennae were disconnected from their wifi board when they opened up the laptop

Is it a good idea to open the laptop myself to check this? Will my warranty be invalidated? thanks!

I'd check your drivers are configured firstly.

But it won't affect your warranty, you can open the laptop and make upgrades as you like without affecting warranty so long as you don't damage it in the meantime.

And optional updates?

What antivirus are you using?

Need the network adapters please, not device manager
Hi, I am (very slowly) downloading the optional update, so I will let you know if that changes anything

Currently only AV is the built in windows defender

Apologies if this still isnt what youre looking for, Im not familiar with windows 11

Network adapters are the same as in windows 7 days, hasn’t changed.

But if optional updates weren’t installed then windows hadn’t been setup yet, hopefully that will install the required driver

Windows optional update is installed, and Laptop has been restarted. Unfortunately my Laptop WiFi is still terrible and slow to load any webpage. Also Wifi is intermittently disconnecting about every 1-2 minutes. Internet speed according to Fast.com is maxing out at 3Mbps while my phone and laptop on the same desk are at a constant 65Mbps.

Quite annoying but if you have any other suggestions I would more than appreciate, otherwise I am considering contacting PCS tech support

Check the antenna cables onto the WiFi card

Check the antenna cables onto the WiFi card
Yep seems to be the culprit here. It looked loose before I took off the guard, then I removed the guard covering the attachment points and the cable was not properly attached. I have gently tried to put it back into its slot but it does not seem to want to stay connected.

I will keep trying but Im assuming I should consider getting in touch with PCS for a repair or something? I received the Laptop 5 days ago.

There should be a screw in there holding the card down

img_0825-jpeg.39988
Yes there was - on my build the screw was also holding down a small metal guard-plate that covered the two Gold/Silver wires so I had to remove the screw. Wire was visibly loose even prior to me removing the screw

Also the photo isnt great but the wire with the gold connector is also a bit frayed
