I've noticed people mentioning fan controllers, are they beneficial for a case like the one I've ordered?

Yes and no
The PSU is capable of running a second 980 Ti in sli, it says that in the review you should read the whole review, it's only a 5min read. The case has an in built 3 speed fan controller plus ASUS motherboards have excellent in built fan control.
