So this is the laptop spec i was going for but i want to see how much a desktop with same perfomance will work out

Cosmos Series: 15.6" Matte Full HD IPS LED Widescreen (1920x1080)

Processor (CPU)
Intel® Core™ i7 Quad Core Processor 6700HQ (2.6GHz, 3.5GHz Turbo)

Memory (RAM)
16GB HyperX IMPACT 1600MHz SODIMM DDR3 (2 x 8GB)

Graphics Card
NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 950M - 2.0GB DDR3 Video RAM - DirectX® 12

Memory - Hard Disk
250GB Samsung 850 EVO SSD, SATA 6Gb/s (upto 540MB/sR | 520MB/sW)

Things to consider: ill keep it running most of the time 24/7 restarting it once a month or so , so ill need the cooling fans to be as quiest as possible and PSU as well. The games that i play are mostly flash games on Kong and sometimes hearthstone.

The spec you posted in very unbalanced and I would make a few changes to that if you ae going down the route of a laptop, but id suggest a desktop.

You can get a quieter case for £20 more, a better GPU if you fancy playing more demanding games one day or downgrade to an i3 and save some cash if you have no ambitions of playing better games.

The above spec is just rough and the evo 212 is a type, it was meant to be the dragonfly cooler.

Is mini PC an option cause i know nothing about them and how good are they. How big is that coolermaster case?
Which case is that? Regarding the graphic card , the one from laptop spec can handle LoL on high settings quite easily and 750 is more then twice powerfull.
The other thing i was thinking is 120gb SSD + regular WD 500GB HDD.
Regular corsair PSU's are they really noisy ?

As for the laptop i just went for quad processor with gaming card and other stuff to speed it up. Im on toshiba i3 and its bloody terrible for my current needs.

The wireless card , does it mean i won't have lan port on it ?
Its just i dont have cable at my house , we only have wifi hub in living room.

That mini PC would fit the bill nicely. I don't have any first hand experience with the low end corsair PSU's so ic ant comment on noise, but they will be louder than the CS series.

Detailed dimension are available if you click on the picture of each case.

Can anyone make a build for mini PC? :)
I would say i dont want to go over 700 for my needs , obviously i want to be quiet as laptop and processor wise quad core minimum.

Thanks.

I intend to run it 24/7 and restarting it once every 2-3 weeks , i normally dont turn off/sleep/hibernate my current laptop at all.
I can get Optimus 17.3 inch for about the same money.
My main idea is - i want something speedy but i dont play games , i want it to be quiet as regular laptop so i can leave it on and sleep in the same room.

I honestly dont know what to get......
For my needs both laptop and mini would be an overkill but i have got the money so i want to finally get myself something decent for Christmas , i might start playing something at some point so idk.
Well im mainly playing high demanding flash games on kongregate like idle games , so this is where an idea of running 24/7 comes from )))

It would be better to stick to one thread and just update your requirements since you have already received feedback on previous threads. You said you could afford either, a mini pc (I think) is likely to be less noisy and run longer without any issues but it really depends on personal preference and that is something that you have to decide at the end of the day.

Yeah , sorry for that its just no one answers in previous threads unless you create new one then everyone checks it.
I just want to know peoples opinion on generally what is better value for money.
My main concern was how quiet the mini PC would be , cause from the benchmarks it would be probably 2x quicker then a laptop but then i know that the laptop would completely quiet and wouldn't bother me.

If i go with Cosmos and then in 1 year ill want to upgrade something on it would that be possible ? Or its better to go with better chassis in terms of possible upgrades in the future ?

keynes

Depends on what you wish to upgrade since some components like the gpu will be soldered to the motherboard and you won't be able to upgrade it.

The build number 1 is cheaper by 12 quid , parvum case costs 50 quid more so where is the catch ?

You are using a different cooler which may be a bit more expensive and some configurators start from a slightly lower/higher base price to reflect the type of user who busy them, do they need more support etc.

Basically they are the same machine in terms of performance so cheaper is better.

keynes

Multiverse Poster
Neither look like better value for money considering the expensive motherboard and you could get a cheaper psu
