I thought it would be good to have a dedicated thread on specialist Mice, weather it be gaming, or design or whatever.
I'm a huge mouse fan, I usually spend quite a lofty budget on them and keep them for years.
I've had a Cyborg R.A.T. 7 on my main gaming rig for about 12 years now (the design was later bought by Mad Catz), it's a truly remarkable mouse that I just can't let go of and so far have found no need to, it's incredible whilst only being around 6400DPI (which was cutting edge at the time). They've become kind of collectors items now, I paid about £70 for it new back in 2009 and now they sell on eBay and Amazon used for over that price. Crazy. In those days the ethos with gaming mice was the opposite to what it is now, you ADDED weight, and high end mice such as the R.A.T. came with additional weights that you could insert into the chassis or take away if you wanted to reduce weight, the idea was to eradicate micro movements when aiming or something like that. The whole chassis size is adjustable too, you can extend the rear of the mouse and the side to fit your hand better, this feature is simply priceless IMHO for a good fit and I wish modern designs would embrace it:
On my gaming laptop though, I've been through a few.
I've just upgraded to a Razer Deathadder V2 Mini which is a nice 8500DPI 5 button mouse. Why they call it a Mini I don't know, it's like 8mm shorter than the full size model or something crazy.
This is my first Razer product. The keys are sublime and the weight and travel is just so easy, and I can understand why Razer have gained this reputation. It just feels like a non existent extension to your hand. Very nice indeed.
I've always like Razers approach to braided cables as well, always top notch.
The Razer Synapse management software and Razer Chroma RGB software is very full featured, easy to use and adds value rather than being cumbersome and not worth having installed.
Quite frankly, the price was too good to miss out on too at £40 from Amazon.
