Hey all!

With the 2022 Season inching closer, I thought I'd make a fresh thread to look forward for what will hopefully be another super enticing season. Who are your favorite drivers? Which teams are you backing this season? Any bold predictions? 👀

One of our lovely Discord members has set up an F1 Fantasy Team for the PCS Discord, but the more the merrier, you're welcome to join in the action too! Invite code: 375806a7f9

If you've become a bit uninterested by F1 recently, I'd encourage giving the first few races a watch- brand new regulations, brand new cars, potentially 3 or maybe even 4 teams fighting for the title, a big injection of great young talent, we're hopefully about to enter another golden era for F1!

Well, as season openers go, that was a pretty fantastic one!

Spoilers on Bahrian Race:
It seems the Mercedes Power Train has some work to do with Merc being off the pace along with their porpoising and McLaren being down in the trenches. RB certainly have some reliability issues to fix with 3 of their 4 cars out of the race. But to see Ferrari very much being back in the game and Haas being P3 in the constructors is just incredible, I'm incredibly happy for them. Zhou had a pretty great first race scoring his first points too!

If Merc can fix their speed and porpoising and RB can fix their reliability, we have an incredible season bubbling up here!

I can see this season being very competitive. I think the yellow cost RB, I think they would have both finished otherwise and the points spread a bit more..... but a major aspect of the sport is reliability so they can't have any excuses. If their car was reliable, they would have probably had 2 & 4.

I'll be keeping an eye on results, but one race isn't quite enough to drag this formerly casual fan back

I thought the same, but was glad I watched it - the racing battle in the middle between Verstappen and Leclerc swapping 1/2 a few times and then the last few laps were actually a lot more exciting that several of the races last year.

Another solid race in the bag I reckon! Not quite as good as Bahrain although that might be my Hamilton fanboyism coming through 😂 that said, shocking qualifying from him. Racability still seems good with a battle between ALO and OCO then VER and LEC again- feel very sorry for PER though. Glad to see Mick is okay.

Must be said, I don't like this track one bit, it's simply too dangerous- 2 or 3 restarts last year, red flags in both Q1 & 2, 200MPH blind corners? That's not even looking into the country it's located in and what was going on on Friday. But sadly I think it'll be a feature for a while- we know where F1's priorites lay.

Onto the next one, who'll be up at 6AM for the next one 👀

Anyone else salivating at the thought of Vegas?
Christ, I’ve just had a look at the blurb. Whilst my initial thoughts are the same as @ActuallyDenz, it’ll definitely be a spectacle, that’s for sure.

And you could also catch Aerosmith or Jon Fogerty during their Vegas residencies whilst you’re there.

If I wasn’t currently socially anxious, didn’t have a hatred of flying, didn’t have a baby on the way and did have a lot more expendable income I’d be suggesting the ultimate forum away day.

We try to head for Silverstone most years for the F1, proper lads weekend. This is in a tent in the middle of a field.... can only imagine the implications of being on the strip for a weekend of madness.

Would need to take out a 2nd mortgage though :D

Hmm? So a street circuit you say? In Vegas you say? With all the lighting from the hotels and casinos you say?

That'll be a nope from me then Bob.
