Third Problem Thread: Computer crashes when I plug in the battery

I'm running W7, and unless I have the power plugged in before I turn the laptop on it will crash/freeze the machine when I plug it in. Losing my Adobe Illustrator project as well as the tabs on Google Chrome I had open and needed.

Expected so much more from PC Specialists regarding quality considering the reviews I looked at beforehand and the price paid. Fantastic job. Only about the 10th seperate issue I've had in the last 8 months of owning this and having already sent it back already.

Not much chance of getting anyone from PS replying to this either.

Since the forums are not an official channel of support, you are correct in thinking you're unlikely to get a response here from PCS. You'll need to phone or email for a response I'm afraid.

When you say "turn the laptop on" do you mean a cold boot, a resume from sleep or a resume from hibernate?

Any of those tbh. But when I plug it in when it's already being used. Programs will freeze.

Also discovered two (minor atm) screen issues. Can't really afford to be sending it back right now though as I need it for University assignments.

That sounds pretty serious, it's certainly not normal behaviour. I appreciate your need to use the laptop but I would recommend you call PCS as soon as convenient, I would expect it to need an RMA. Please don't ignore this issue or just muddle along with it. Problems like this do not get better on their own, but they do almost always get worse - and more expensive to fix.
