Time for a new PC

It's time for a new PC, current one is from 2015 from here.

PC will be used for mainly video editing, Office documents and the occasional gaming session. The monitor is a Acer Predator X34P ultrawide which is why I went for the 2070 Super GPU.

Gaming wise it will be the new Call of Duty once out, Doom and Cities Skylines, nothing too extreme.

Any amendments welcome.

Man, that’s a lovely screen! 2070 super will fit it well.

I’m not sure that case is going to be up to the task on a build like that, I’d be looking nearer the £100 mark personally although I always go overboard on cases. Something like the Fractal Meshify S2 would be pretty good for airflow if you want to keep a minimalistic and non rgb look.

If you really need a dvd drive you can always pick up an external one for a few quid as almost all modern cases don’t have spaces for them anymore.

The extra fans wouldn’t be required if you swap the case and the cooler as a more expensive case will have better cooling included plus the 2 radiator fans on the cooler.

Similarly the cooler, personally I’d suggest a minimum of the h100i, the 9700k and 9900k run damn hot and really need a minimum of a closed loop water cooler.

I’d also up the warranty to silver for £5.

But otherwise looks sweet.

For video editing, the i9 9900k - or an AMD R7 / R9 depending on the software being used.

Instead of the 4x4gb RAM at 2666MHz, 2x8gb 3200MHz RAM. Or 2x16gb if your video editing warrants it,
