Trying to get a 60" Samsung working as a monitor

Hey guys, recently purchased a PC set up. After plugging in, I can't seem to get my TV to work as a monitor. It's been fine and still continues to work okay when I plug a laptop into it. It just won't register the PC. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Many thanks, Cameron.

Is this a PCSpecialist build? If so can you paste your config into your post. This is so that we can 1) see if it's a supported build; 2) see if there's anything obvious in the build that could be causing the issue.

Might be a silly suggestion but is the TV set to the correct output from the GPU connection?

I've already tried the other source options from the TV. No luck. The TV works okay with the laptop plugged in, just not on the PC. Thanks

I think @Steveyg meant is it plugged into the GPU output on the pc and not the motherboard?

And have you set the display in Windows settings or does it not appear as an option?

That CPU has on board graphics so it should work on the motherboard as well

What TV is it exactly and do you have another monitor you can test with the computer to make sure it's working?

I don't have a monitor at the moment to even run the start up. I was hoping to continue using my TV as I have been on the laptop. The TV I have is a 60" plasma Samsung pretty sure it's a J6200.
Thanks

It's just showing a black screen, as if there isn't anything plugged in. Thanks
Sorry, you're not understanding

In the windows display options, do you see the screen as an option to output to? What output type is selected? Mirrored, extended etc?

My guess is that the TV doesn't have the correct resolution for the BIOS boot. It's probably hanging somewhere during the POST and awaiting your input before continuing. If that's the case then there's not a lot you can do other than guess.

Are you plugging in a keyboard/mouse when attempting this? Reason I ask is some BIOS are setup to hold on no detection of keyboard.

An unsupported resolution came to my mind as well, although on my TVs that usually results in an OSD message like "unsupported format" or similar. I think the best way to trouble shoot this is to get a monitor, even if you have to borrow one from someone/work and get PC booted with that. Then plug in the TV and see if it's detected, configure the correct resolution etc. Otherwise you're just working blind.

Ok, just read through all of this, and it doesn't look as though the normal checks of is the GPU properly seated and are all other connections ok have been gone through............just a thought
