Ubuntu 16.04 on Optimus 15.6''

Hello everybody,

I received my new machine 10 days ago. I tried to install several times the 16.04 version, but without success. Now i am running both windows 10 and ubuntu 15.04. Is there anyone who had the same problem and managed to fix it?

Laptop spec: optimus 15.6'', 16Gb Ram, intel i7, HDD 750Gb 7200rpm.

I had a problem upgrading from 15.04 to 16.04, getting a blank desktop but this can be fixed by right clicking and opening the CCSM (http://wiki.compiz.org/CCSM) via a terminal. I am away at the moment and do not have all the details and am working from an old laptop running Salent, so cannot check exactly what to do, I will look again next week when i get back but hope this helps a bit.

What exactly is the error that you are getting? Have you tried adding nouveau.modeset=0 in grub? That should sort out a lot of installation issues.
