I'm trying to boot off a USB pendrive but it's not working..

I have shifted (in bios) the usb to top of boot list and disabled secure boot but it's just sitting there after saying 'loading minirt.gx...ok'

Any other settings that need to be changed?
The distro on the pendrive is runtime-live v7.

Sometimes the boot order will show both the USB drive itself and also Partition 1 on the USB drive. You need to boot partition 1.

Nope lol.. it had a partition 2 which I chose after press F8. Same thing..
Gonna try a different pendrive
The tool you use to make the bootable drive (Rufus for example) must create a UEFI capable pendrive, an old MBR based drive won't boot.

Currently using balena etcher. It worked but driveimage xml can't see the nvme drive lol..
Looking for another live distro that I can use to backup the nvme drive before I start using it
