Upgrade advice to improve performance

As above, there's nothing wrong with your hardware that would warrant an upgrade. You need to troubleshoot your existing issues, the first step being a windows reinstall.
Hi! I finally got around to reinstalling windows but I have a question, can I unplug my D drive with only files on it and plug it back in when windows has reinstalled to keep the data on it?
Also, do I have to partition the drive? Because it looks really confusing.

You don't need to remove the drive, but you can if you want.

You just delete any partitions from the C drive, then install windows to the leftover free space, that will automatically partition as required.
