USB 3.0 on optimus IV (windows 8)

Is anyone getting USB 3.0 speeds from the 3.0 externals now?
My games PC with MSI mobo just had a BIOS update, along with windows update ETC which one of them seemed to fix the problem and instantly got 100mb/s transfer speed from my external. My laptop is still stuck at 33mb/s.
