Hi
Since installing a USB 3.0 PCIe card I get an error 41 when I wake the PC with the mouse or keyboard. (wireless using front USB 2.0)

The card is not connected to power

Any suggestions please?

Thanks

Hi Maureen, welcome to the forums!

Can you describe the issue in more detail? What is the error? Error 41 doesn't immediately ring any bells for me.

You say the card is not connected to power, is that the problem? Or were you just stating that it doesn't have a dedicated power supply to the card (ie its powered through the PCIe interface)?

Your full specs might also be useful at this point :)

Hi, thanks for your reply

When I wake the computer with the mouse or keyboard it shows a blue screen with the info below and then reboots.

I disabled the card and there is no problem

Microsoft's description of 41 :

Log Name: System
Source: Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-Power
Event ID: 41
Level: Critical
Description:
The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.

The
Details
tab displays the following information:

EventData
BugcheckCode 0
BugcheckParameter1 0x0
BugcheckParameter2 0x0
BugcheckParameter3 0x0
BugcheckParameter4 0x0
SleepInProgress true
PowerButtonTimestamp 129165039139928187

I meant the card does not have a separate power supply just in PCIe socket but it does have the option to connect it

The USB 3.0 card is :
Bus Type: PCI Express (x1)
Speed: SuperSpeed (5Gbps), High Speed (480Mbps), Full Speed (12Mbps) and Low Speed (1.5Mbps)
Compliant with USB 3.0 Rev. 1.0 specification
Compliant with xHCI/extensible Host Controller revision 1.0
Each USB port supplies +5VDC/900mA
Supports USB 3.0, USB 2.0, and USB 1.1 devices
Connectors: 2 x Type A USB Female
4 Pin power connector for receiving power from the host system power supply
Chipset: Etron EJ168

Computer spec below, thanks if you get some time to help.

Hi

I found a newer driver for the usb 3.0 card on the Etron site which I'm pleased to say appears to have solved the problem.

I now have a mouse controlled bios after updating the Asus board so that's good too.
